Call for Nominations
The Mankato Sports Commission, the governing sports board of Visit Mankato, is made up of a precise composition of 21 stakeholders representing the interests of the sports industry and the marketplace. The Sports Commission’s mission is to drive the visitor economy in Greater Mankato by providing leadership, guidance and expertise that enables the attraction, support and/or administration of high quality sporting and competitive events to the area.
The Nominating Committee for the Sports Commission is currently seeking 3 candidates to fill the following seats to begin on October 12, 2017. Monthly Commissioner meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 8:00 am.
The three open seats may be selected from any of the following categories:
Eligibility requirements include alignment with an open seat and ability to meet during the regular Commissioner meeting times.
Applications must be submitted by 5:00pm on Friday, August 25, 2017. Notifications will be sent out on Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Visit Mankato has worked with a team of various community partners and consultants to create the Mankato Sports Commission.
The Mankato Sports Commission is working hard to seek out new opportunities to bring tournaments and sporting events to greater Mankato and is offering services to facilitate a hassle-free event for you and your team.

In addition to being just a short 75 miles from Minneapolis, Mankato offers the most outstanding and easily accessible venues and facilities for youth and amateur sporting events in Southern Minnesota and some of the best in the Midwest. We offer a wide variety of playing fields, trails, courts, courses and rinks.
Our state-of-the-art, multi-sport venues can host small youth tournaments all the way up to large scale professional athletic events like Verizon Vikings Training Camp and the Minnesota Timberwolves Training Camp.
